21–22 February 2025 · GEMS Winchester School Dubai

The UAE’s first STEM conference for schools — two days of keynotes, workshops, and collaboration in partnership with STEM Learning UK.

Looking back

The UAE's first STEM conference for schools.

In February 2025, EdV partnered with STEM Learning UK to deliver the first dedicated STEM education conference in the UAE. Over two days at GEMS Winchester School Dubai, school leaders, educators, and industry came together for a VIP networking evening and a full day of keynotes, workshops, and collaboration.

The intent was to set a regional standard for professional STEM development. Attendance, the breadth of the workshop programme, and the calibre of the keynote roster all bore that out — and laid the groundwork for the 2026 edition.

"STEM knowledge and skills are vital for all of our futures. They deepen our understanding of the world and the major global challenges we face. By continuously supporting teachers, we bring STEM subjects to life and empower future generations."
Lord Jim Knight Chair of STEM Learning

What happened

Two days, one community, a new regional standard.

The conference opened on Friday with a VIP networking dinner for ~75 guests, featuring a fireside chat with Lord Jim Knight. The room brought together CEOs and senior leaders from GEMS, Taaleem, Aldar, Bloom, Cognita, and Nord Anglia, alongside Emirates International Schools, RAK DoK, and Egypt's Ministry of Education.

Saturday ran as a full conference day at GEMS Winchester Dubai: opening and closing keynotes, three rotations of workshops led by STEM Learning UK and regional school practitioners, and a sponsor exhibition floor. The full programme is preserved in EdV's event archive.
